SubhanAllah!! Ya Ali Madad !! This is not shirk its actually Tawassul, we are asking from Allah (Swt) through the intermediation and sake of Moula E Qayanat Hazrat e Ali (KAW). This is permissible in Islam and is recommended!

If you rer-ead what I wrote, I didn't say they call directly on Imam Ali. They call on Allah (swt) for the sake of Imam Ali. The proper Islamic word is Tawassul or Tawassuf and it is accepted in both the Sunni and Shia schools of thought, however, Salafi/Ahle-Hadith will disagree on its validity. I encourage you to do some reading and if you disagree with the opinion of 1400 years worth of scholarship on the whim of modern day Salafism, so be it.
