@63Jax All these Ferrari fanboys. You're arguing about a car that even at 100k is a fraction of the cost of an Enzo. I've never liked Corvettes and was raised on Porsche, but I could not even imagine what GM or Ford could do if they had the brand type to put out a million dollar vehicle. The whole argument is asinine and really only makes Ferrari look bad and overpriced if anything.

to all those people who participate in this viper vs corvette vs ferrari discussion: My advice to you: Find a picture of your favorite, print it out, put it on your wall and buy a VW Golf. Your discussion is far from relevant to real life. Although both the ZR1 and viper ACR cost a lot less than the Enzo, they are still way out of league for an average person in both purchasing prices and running costs. Not to mention that with all three cars you'll end up with a horribly impractical supercar.

it's good to see a enzo being drive properly, not held on a garage for years and years. good to see a proper supercar owner.

@Bigboomer I didn't think I would have to explain why a Ferrari is what it is because most people already know. A penis extension? What are you 13? The ZR1 and ACR are better values than the Enzo but the Enzo is a better car. I keep on bringing up the money because I am saying if the cost of something DIDN'T matter to me I would by the Enzo before the ZR1. But would end up buying both anyways.

@whothaplaya lol. You don't have $300 million, why bother mentioning that. On the car experience, a site which brokers high end cars, you cannot buy a used Enzo for less than $991,000 USD (It's listed @ 750,000 Euro... a used American model is posted at 1.2 million). SO yes, I'll call it a $900k car. 2 seconds slower, $600,000 faster... YOU want a penis extension. You haven't evened mentioned WHY a Ferrari is what it is. Heritage and passion. I'd kill for one, but I could buy a ZR1 in time.

@Bigboomer Enzo cost 650k not a mill. Oh remember a person with 300 mil DOESN'T care how much stuff cost.

    @whothaplaya 2 seconds and $900,000. BIG difference.

  • whothaplaya

@Bigboomer The viper is only 2 seconds faster around a 13 mile track so 2 seconds doesn't mean much.

@Bigboomer Performance is only part of the reason for buying a car. The 458 is built better and looks better than the ZR1. For a 100k the ZR1 is a great car PERFORMANCE wise but there a cars that are built better and are more comfortable than the ZR1 for the same price or less.

  • Bigboomer

@whothaplaya Yet the viper is faster. Your brainwashed buy everybody who thinks more expensive is better... because it's italian is MUST be better. It may LOOK better, but the Zr1 / ACR are better competitors as track cars than a 458 / Enzo. You could also race the Zr1 / ACR more because it WOULD be down less for maintenance.

@Bigboomer Yeah your not getting the point I'm not dreaming at all. All I'm saying is I like the ZR1 but I like the 458 italia more. As for a track car I would rather have a enzo than a ACR.
    dimanche 01 août 2010 10:40:09
  • Bigboomer

@whothaplaya But you'll never have 300 million. Never. You'll never afford a Zr1. Let alone a 458, so stop dreaming. Secondly, if all you wanted was a "car for the track" you'd buy a Viper ACR long before a Enzo.

@Bigboomer Lets just say I had a net worth of 300 million, price, insurance and maintenance cost mean NOTHING. The ZR1 is a better value but when you have that much money who cares what stuff cost. Its the same things with houses. A rich person buys a 5 million dollar house in Beverly Hills when they know they can get a house just as nice 20 miles away for half the price.

@DougiemcRFC The stig is great on Top Gear because he races that specific track every single day. Sabine Shmitz has a better chance at a faster lap around the Ring. SHE is the Stig of the Nurburgring.

@whothaplaya I can read perfectly. I'm just bringing you back to earth. There will be NO possible way that you would ever have to choose between the two, without having adequate funds. And secondly, I doubt you realize its $10k+ a year to insure an exotic in most places, $3-6k for a Corvette. Then you have maintenance. So the kid in you would take the Ferrari, but the grown up in you (assuming your older than 16) would be rational and grab the better, cheaper, and easier to maintain Corvette.

  • whothaplaya

@Bigboomer Maybe you should learn how to read. I said IF I had the choice. Which means if someone was like you can have the ZR1 or the 458 italia I would choose the 458 in a heartbeat. Who said anything about price or if I could afford it?

  • Bigboomer

@whothaplaya $350,000 for 458, $90,000 for a ZR1... something tells me YOU would buy a ZR1 first, cause you'll never afford the slower italian.
