    The Count Basie Orchestra plays this Neil Hefti arrangement and I the video I took this from had Thad Jones taking the solo.
    I'm from Liverpool ; and this music saved me from the Beatles!

    Nobody and I mean NOBODY could swing as hard as the Count Basie Band. This is the REAL DEAL. This arrangement brings tears to my eyes. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTY, check out jerry Lewis movies. He used the Count Basie band a lot.

    Hard to see the video but recognize Jaws and Marshall and looks like Bill Hughes. I love and always dug hard Basie and his wonderful band. A powerful machine and if you stood in front of he band, the music pierced you through and through your body and soul. I am privileged to have heard and known the band for many years before Count Basie died.

    Wow. Granted this epicness is from the mid-20th century, but thank goodness for audio quality advancements. I'm in a High School Jazz band and we sound better than the recording here. xD

    trumpet soloist is Phillip (Phil) Guilbeau. He also played and recorded w/Ray Charles, Big Joe Turner, Otis Redding and lot of others.

    I've never heard the Wild Bill Version, although I know he recorded the number round 1950 - I'll certainly check it out now. - Thanks! I thought the arrangments on this album were either by Neil Hefti or Thad Jones. Bob

    yeahh! I also was impressed when I saw this song on GTA 4! And good job if you really played this in your band! It should be cool to have a jazz band... I really like to have one! And I prefer the GTA 4 solo than this one, but booth are cool! Thanks man

    My jazz band played this. I was pretty surprised to hear in GTA four. It's a real classic. It doesn't sound quite as good when my band plays it :( This version has a different solo than that of the version they used in GTA IV
