NRU, an app that shows off Zagat data, by just pointing your iPhone around, will come out in the next few days on the iPhone app store. Marko Balabanovic, head of innovation at http://www.lastminute.com labs in London, UK, gives us a sneak peak. Yelp.com is rumored to be working on a similar app. Distributed by Tubemogul.

There's a very cool iPhone app called Satellite Augmented Reality. It has a database of over 370 geo sats and lets you view where they are in the sky. It also calculates the azimuth and elevation angles for you based on your location. In addition, it lets you enter a virtual location in order to see what the satellite view would be in, say China, if you are in the US.

the application is really good. BTW check out the video quality. All this is done on an iPhone! Simply amazing, a great still camera and video camera right in your pocket incorporated with a phone. The iPhone is basically a computer without an optical drive. LOL. Love it!

The presentation is so sloppy that any wow factor is straight out the window. Wait until dark or go inside!

Last Minute could do lots of business by only highlighting the restaurants and hotels that they make money with.. I think it's cool on the Android phones how it puts you in camcorder mode for the background of where you are pointing towards. Does it show distance to each of those places clearly by making far away places smaller than things that are closer?
