    @5623461 I had the honour of standing on the cab of locomotive 109109 in Budapest and it struck me that in many ways it was more advanced for its date of manufacture than British practice at that date. The standard of work on it was fantastic. I could not speak any Hungarian but the driver could see how thrilled I was to be on his locomotive. Steam is the same language everywhere!

The steam one was a local design although locomotive buiders in Europe used to share the same ideas and principles based on reliability and interchangeable parts so they may look the same .The designer of the sleek one at 5:22 was Nicolae Malaxa (romanian) or more probably the design of

    The 2-8-4 is an amazing beast, and strangely elegant fron a rear 3/4 viewpoint. Good sized firebox huh? Who was the designer? It has the look of a Golsdorf locomotice (Austria)
