USS Kitty Hawk caught in a storm. Keep in mind the flight deck sits about 60ft above the water.

So what! I was in forecastle cleaning up the damage before that wave. I nearly killed myself slamming into the bulkhead.

I was a Damage Controlman working with other shipmates in the focsle to stop flooding when this happened. The impact of this wave was so great shipmates were tossed off the deck, one of which had to be COD off the ship.

I was on this cruise and that Helicopter belonged to my squadron. Major wash and rust patrol on that puppy. I had a blast with it....didn't get sick at all...best rest I ever had with the boat rocking. Real fun trying to walk around which they advised against. What a storm!
