Background: A Briton accused of hacking into Nasa and US military computer networks has spoken out about his experiences. (Gary McKinnon was arrested by the UK's national high-tech crime unit in 2002.)
    McKinnon earns Lords appeal
    Pentagon hacker in legal victory
    By John Leyden
    Published Tuesday 31st July 2007 10:30 GMT
Gary McKinnon, the British hacker facing extradition over allegations he broke into US Military and NASA sites, has earned the right to take his case to the House of Lords.

The law Lords agreed to hear arguments that US authorities acted in an "oppressive" and "arbitrary" manner during plea bargaining negotiations, for example by allegedly threatening McKinnon over the loss of rights to serve part of his sentence in the UK unless he submitted to voluntary extradition.

The House of Lords was not bound to consider McKinnon's final appeal - for example it declined to hear the appeal of the NatWest Three bankers, so the Lords' decision is a significant fillip for McKinnon and his legal team.

that is a possibility but this did happen around the year 2000 when mobiles were rubbish. the nokia 3310 came out in 2000 which had the game snake but no camera. most people that had the latest phone had that. plus he had been hacking them for years he didn't expect that at the first photo they would catch him

but he's working remotely on their computer so if he screenshots it, it'll just save a screenshot on that computer. nothing actually saves to his harddrive. on dial up it'll take ages to download a 250mb file i'm sure when the photo finally appears he'll be so surprised by what he saw the last thing he thought of was to get evidence

our autistics in the military are very brave and very intelligent and some didn't learn until later that they were autistic. I dont buy it because of his speech, thought process and ability to answer but who know, people are crazy

No screenshot function? You don't need one. Windows has PRT SCR (print screen), and Mac has ⌘ Cmd + ⇧ Shift + 3? The world's most notorious hacker doesn't know these simple tricks?

Gary is a typical person who has Aspergers because he can't relate to others.. He is able to relate to his computer and be deeply obsessed with finding out the truth of government hiding UFO information from humanity.

Using advance technology plays into the field of acknowledging publicly that such technology even exist. Which is why America is attempting to sentence him on such a level. He making the claim to having this disease is justifiable as American stating he caused $5k in damages to every computer. As he said there we other users who has access to such sensitive information. If he was lying I'm sure he would of claimed it. His statements are straightforward and consistent.

This guy is mad that he got caught breaking into government computers over the course of multiple YEARS? Tough shit. Now he hides behind the claim that he has aspergers and depression. It clearly isn't too terrible if it wasn't diagnosed until AFTER he was indicted for these crimes.

I find it really hard to believe that a government that supposedly has the technology to reverse engineer Alien technology and use it, has such defaults in their computer security system. I am sure if an alien race were to come into contact with earth and we were able to use their technology the first thing the government would get from them would be a very secure way to communicate and share information so some doucher from the UK couldn't just get access to sensitive information
