    This new movie of the supernova remnant Cassiopeia A was made by combining Chandra X-ray satellite observations taken in January 2000, February 2002, February 2004 and December 2007. The debris is expanding more slowly than expected, probably because the energy of the explosion is being used to magnetically accelerate particles, turning them into cosmic rays

    Technically... it's a wave, but it's not "sound". You can detect radioactive waves or other waves without them being sounds. Sound is specific.

    The sound he's talking about isn't actual sound vibrations across matter. It's radiation waves, which are similar though.

    well thats what i meant, there is no sound if youre in space, but in planets, off course. but there is sound in the universe but not for our ears, thats what i meant, maybe i dont know shit, thats what a norwegian astonomer said to me once, maybe i missheard him
