Simi Valley California was the site of the worst nuclear disaster in U.S. history in 1959, and the amounts of radiation leaked to the environment and atomosphere were more than 240 times that of the accident at 3-Mile Island. The area is beautiful today, but what still remains from many decades ago?

I lived on Woolsey Canyon for 3 years in the late 80's and never heard about this problem. I cant believe I learned about this on the History Channel. What a shame. I live in Texas now, had a daughter with no health issues and no potential health problems with my family, who lived there with me. Beautiful area with a great view of the valley. My friend and I did alot of hikes there as well.

How old are you? I can't tell if your friend lived in Simi around the time of the accident or in recent years. If it's been in recent years, the odds of the radiation leak being the cause of the entire family having "chemical imbalances in their brains" is highly unlikely. Not everyone in Simi has cancer or some horrible mutation. I spent most of my life out there and have only had very common health problems.
