Shepard Fairey, who created the iconic Obama Hope poster that many say was the image of the 2008 presidential campaign, seems to be the artist of the moment. Rita Braver reports for CBS news.
Call it what you want, but in my opinion Shepard Fairey has achieved the artist's version of the American dream. He went from a street artist putting his art up illegally to being the creator of the most iconic image of a U.S. President's campaign, and making money for his art, which is a pretty big accomplishment, to say the least. And sure he uses other people's photographs, but great artists steal.
