The Nikon COOLPIX L100 puts the power of a 15x telephoto zoom into a compact, easy-to-use design. A wide variety of images can be captured with the COOLPIX L100 from wide angle scenes (28mm) to telephoto (420mm). Ideal for family sports or travel photography the COOLPIX L100 can shoot up to 30 consecutive pictures at 13 frames per second. With the new Scene Auto Selector, the COOLPIX L100 automatically selects the appropriate scene mode for best results.

PROMO LINK is.gd\OJMrYg Customer Reviews: We've had this camera for a month now. Absolutely no problems with it. We do have Trascend memory card in it--works great. No focusing problem either. I have researched a lot of Cannon Powershots ELPHS and such but decided to go with this one. It is very easy to use. Very user friendly menu. Takes great pictures with an amazing zoom. ... Definetly, choose a DSLR. The Nikon L100 is pretty much a point-and-shoot with extra zoom. You can't even manually select the ISO on this one. The indoor pictures are messy, with a lot of noise and, again, you can't manually select almost anything. Go with a DSLR, it's more expensive but it's worth the money.

I have always wanted to do photography as a hobby, taking pictures of sporting events, cool sites, sceneries, interesting looking buildings, etc, and now that I am 19 and have the money to buy an okay camera, I am wondering what kind of camera I should get to get nice good quality pictures. I have been looking around and I am debating whether to get this camera, the Nikon Coolprix P100 or jump straight into buying a DSLR. Any one have suggestions for this beguiner??
