http://www.pbs.org/nova/sciencenow We can't see dark matter, and some skeptics doubt its existence, but many scientists think it makes up 20-some percent of our universe. Astronomer Doug Clowe explains how the Bullet Cluster, a group of galaxies billions of light years away, may shed some light on this mysterious stuff.

Don't miss the new season of NOVA scienceNOW, airing every Wednesday at 9pm starting June 25 on PBS. Watch past episodes of the program, try out interactives, and more on our Web site: http://www.pbs.org/nova/sciencenow

they need to know what Gravity is first. to me, Electric Universe make more sense. Dark Matter?.....needle in a hay stack.

actually, has for of water has more gravity. since Energy and mass are directly related (einstein's thing) the more energy something has, the more mass. the more mass the "more" gravity. since gas forms always have more energy than liquid

is it possible gravity is coverned not only by abount of mass, but also density? ex. 2 particles of hydrogen (in gas form) and one particle of oxygen (in gas form) have less garvity as one 'particle' of h2o in liquid form? just my guss/suggestion

I think we might be reliving the debate of geocentrism. Even if it may sound "stupid" for some high schoolers and younger, the geocentric model it was a very sound and widely accepted theory for centuries. Many hypothesis tried to explain the little puzzling "loop" in the orbits of the planets around the Earth, until we had some technical advances to actually prove the real orbits of the planets Dark Matter and the strange gravitational behavior could be the "loop" of our cosmological theories.

Well sir, right now dark matter describes a theory that some scientists are trying to prove, and others are trying to disprove. Throughout the history of man, we've had theories that had been proven and disproven. We are living in a time where dark matter is something that's being postulated by a majority of people. Why wouldn't people want to see a PBS show about a theory that will probably be proven in their lifetime?

Easy answer; it's always been there - but we havn't been able to "observe" / measure it, until recently.

Jesus/God told me to tell people to use smoke/steam to determine the mass of dark matter.
