Impressive résumé, but I don't think Mensans join simply to show off. I understand what you mean in terms of actually advancing society vs. pretentiously appearing to. However, from what I've seen, the majority go to meet with other relatively intelligent people, share ideas, and learn. While socializing, Mensans may not necessarily be saving the world, but I think the experiences they gain from others can benefit personal endeavors. This video does a very poor job of illustrating that, though.
I am laughing at how you people use the larger words to try and intimidate each other. I was accepted into Mensa last year (please note it was the first year I had taken a mensa approved test.) and I am the first student in my school to be accepted. I lost my point. Sorry :/
Asian people have nice skin, nice hair, can be really pretty or really ugly, they are good in speed and have a lot of talents and are great musicians, they have a lot of skills :) btw im not asian so u dont think im telling all this because im asian so thats my impression of them in general ;)
If YOU had attended a better school and were a student who demonstrated exceptional aptitude or ability then you may have been culled out for testing in order to see if you might benefit fromor qualify for special advanced placement classes, programs and even special schools for gifted kids. It has nothing to do with a desire to "validate their importance through verifying their intelligence". ...But then
YOU wouldn't know these things, for quite obvious reasons.
"People who are the best" don't waste their time and potential on frivolous childish games and social clubs. They focus on productive achievement, inventing something, discovering something, creating something. I guess you wouldn't know about that for obvious reasons.
Sorry but that is your made up hypothesis, conjecture and assumption with NO basis in fact or reality. We smart people do intellectual things, puzzles, mind games like chess, sudoku, word games, IQ tests, etc for FUN! The more competitive the more fun it is. Weak people don't do tests of strength to see how they rate in comparison to others - strong people do. People who are the best are USUALLY very competitive and want to know how/where they rate in comparison to others.
