    I'm sorry Lilangel, but don't feel bad. Competition was especially tough this year probably because there are fewer JETs leaving Japan for fear of not finding a job when the get home, and also the unemployment rate is pretty high, so I'm sure the number of applications was higher than usual. You sound very bright and ambitious, and show real interest in the program. Just stay at your current job, and reapply next year. Ganbatte!
