In this video, I show how to photograph water droplets with an ordinary point & shoot camera. All aspects of shooting are covered in this video, from camera settings, to positioning the camera for the best shot.

There is a slideshow of photos from this shoot at the end.

    Cameras Used:

    Video: Canon A480
    Demonstration: Canon SD1100 IS
    Audio recorded with a macbook

Hi, I have a question. I've got a Canon Powershot G12 & I followed your directions regarding the settings but when I depress the button it lingers, just trying to focus. It won't go off! What now?

Low ISO causes a slow shutter speed, resulting in motion blur. If you don't want your photos to be blurry, you should use a higher ISO. Experiment with it though!

With the sx210 you have manual exposure mode. This gives you control over the aperture and shutter speed (and more). So with a little bit of experimentation, you should get shots with perfect exposure. I think it has manual focusing too, which will be great because when I was shooting these, lots of them were out of focus. Manual focus is better than focus lock. Read the manual, and good luck!
