That is how it is. Kill everything you see before what you see kills you!

Shouldn't they call you a noob in local before they pod you?

A little after killing the pirates, a friendly gang shows up. They proceed to kill your ship, pod you and call you a noob in local.

Well, I have a ps3 and a xbox, I have been hooked on eve for almost 2 months now. This game is worth it once you get over the learning curve.

I know just what you mean. Too many Johnny Headshots in this age of twitch shooters and balls-to-the-wall blockbusters are too ADHD-addled to get it. Space is really big and empty -- EVE takes that fact and makes it feel peaceful and inspiring, rather than dull. The idea of reading a book at all is enough to turn off such people, let alone the idea of playing a game that sometimes moves at a pace that would allow you to read a book while playing it.

This game has a VERY deep learning curve! I have just begun to play and although it is very epic in scope, I will continue to play and pay, because I know this will be a satisfying experience with no end. A literary comparison of this game is as follows: it's as if Tolstoy's "War and Peace" had a baby with Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged", with "Dune" Author Frank Herbert as a "lovable" care taker.

Too bad reading about EVE is a million times more fun than actually playing it.
