"Since when is making your sound more accessible and more pop-based taking a chance?" was the only question I asked in my previous reply. If you're tired of replying, then stop, don't sit here and complain to me about it. I don't care how many people listen to them, it means nothing to me. High numbers only mean that the general populace enjoys them alot, and the general populous usually know fuck all about music. And yes, you're right, what I'm sharing is my opinion. Bravo.
The reason I don't like them anymore has nothing to do with the fact that they are more pop, as i already said before they lost their edge. They don't have the sonic impact they used to have. And you never never answered my question, you just made an excuse.
Actually, my favourite Deftones album is Saturday Night Wrist, which is on the lighter side. I listen to a huge array of music, hell, I even play in a death metal / grindcore band AND melodic rock / progressive band simultaneously. You were saying "my bitch ass only listens to heavy music"? I constantly surround myself with music, so yeah I'm gonna have some strong opinions on it. But that does not mean I am not open minded. Or that I exclusively listen to heavy music.
Yeah, I am aware that tons of bands change their sound to suit the times. From a musicians standpoint (someone who wants to make music they enjoy rather then what sells), this is very much like selling out. Since when is making your sound more accessible and more pop-based taking a chance? Please explain this to me.
You're accusing Linkin Park of selling out? Ha. You basically accused every band that changed there sound of selling out. "other guys changed there sound to suit times". Uhh that is...let's see....DEFTONES, LINKIN PARK, BLINK-182, AND A LOT MORE BANDS. You need to get your fucking head straight and stop labeling bands "sellouts". Linkin Park got tired playing the music that you would say was "Old LP". And they took the chances and changed. Which paid off...
You stupid fuck, you obviously know nothing about Linkin Park. Linkin Park was and used to be called "Hybrid Theory" because they mixed all sorts of genre's of music together. But later got sued because somebody claimed that name. Linkin Park is continuing the "Hybrid Theory". And if they sold out they would've ended up like Limp Bizkit. The TRUE definition of selling out. And the "Nu-Metal" era is dead. Deftones and Linkin Park both know that. That is why there sounds changed.
Deftones have changed, but still have their core elements in play. Linkin Park changed and left most of what they were behind. I think it's obvious who evolved and who sold out.
