You're clearly an American. The democratic form of government is flawed, however I would greatly embrace it over any other current form of national government on the planet. Can you think of any other current form which is preferable? I personally dislike democracy, however I view it as more acceptable than any other current model---if you think there is a better, more realistic model than please tell me!

Absurd!!??? "Government is subject to the people, if we don't like what it is doing, it can be altered through legistration." That's absurd!!!!!!!!! We know of the Roman concept of "government" which all democractic gov'ts model after. To say government is subject to the people......and you really believe that...wait and gov't can be altered through legislation....Fun.......ny!!!!! Sourcing is very important, especially when it comes to information. part1 of 2

As a registered Republican, I say let anyone making any less money than me die if they get sick, but if I need an expensive operation that my insurance doesn't cover, of course it is okay for anyone making more than me to pay for it. Vote for Romney/Satan 2012!!

Google this: "This Charity Would Help Wives Learn How to Murder Husbands (and Get Away With It)" -- The false narrative (Herstory) is collapsing.

And why do you think we care what Canadians think? Healthcare is a business like any other type of business. People are going to get sick regardless. I would rather someone in the free market make a profit on my heathcare than to put it in the government's hands and have it dictate my personal life. MORE government is NOT the answer.

Are liberals incapable of thinking? The "15%" that you speak of has every opportunity to be covered, but at a much lower cost the private way than the government way.

The difference between the government controlling health care or a privately owned company is that if privately owned companies control health care, I will invariably have a choice in who my service provider is. Under the Canadian system, you do not have those benefits. And FYI, the entire medical system in America is not for-profit. There are many non-profit agencies that provide health care. The issue with our system is not profit, but the costs associated with care.

"You're presenting a false dichotomy"---you're mistaken. I did not present one system as necessarily "better", I merely stated an opinion that I prefer the Canadian system over the American.

You're presenting a false dichotomy - that we must either have the (current) American or the Canadian system. The American system has huge systemic issues that Canada, any others have. They aren't because of a lack of government involvement, but because of it. The AMA, FDA, and government have oversight on what can be done in the hospital, and it drives up costs. Most estimates put the interference at 50-60% of the costs of health care. What would we look like if our care was half the cost?

As a Canadian, I would very much rather my current system of healthcare than America's. I am certain that MOST Canadians--on both sides of the political spectrum--would agree. What his fool of a politician forgets, is that its a SHAME to have a system that PROFITS from the sick and diseased.

besides dentist.. i am quite glad that i am not covered as there is no therapy or drug that I would take from our current medical institution. Every "therapy" is designed to be as expensive as possible and just effective enough to obviate the symtoms (and that is AT ITS BEST) often these therapies are slow homicide while charging the individual and the tax payers millions of dollars for "treatments" that would never be able to compete with REAL medicine.. The market is rigged

Do you understand that the Constitution is being phased out? It is all about military might. Why do you think the government and its media arm constantly vilify militias? If you are met in a dark alley by someone with a gun who wants your money, are you going to ask, "What part of the law gives you power to mandate that I give you my money"? No, no you wouldn't. At that moment you realise that the law doesn't matter and that whatever the mugger says goes because he has the military might.
