I had the honour of standing on the cab of locomotive 109109 in Budapest and it struck me that in many ways it was more advanced for its date of manufacture than British practice at that date. The standard of work on it was fantastic. I could not speak any Hungarian but the driver could see how thrilled I was to be on his locomotive. Steam is the same language everywhere!
