Beyond the Blood aired as a segment on SIU's student produced magazine show "alt.news 26:46." This short doc focuses on Tom Sullivan's special effects and production design work on the cult classic "The Evil Dead." It features interviews with the cast and crew, and film critics from WGN Radio and Ain't It Cool News. I directed, edited, lit, and produced with help from Jay Neander and Jared Kagel. I'm working on a 30 min. version for 2007. This is the second version of the piece that aired on alt.news. Very special thanks to Tom, the Ladies of the Evil Dead, Nick, and Steve for being willing to appear in this evolving documentary.

well working with film its expensive by nature... now adays you can do a shortfilm for like 20 bucks (assuming you have a camera or can get one for a weekend) on miniDV or HDV.... i did 2 shortfilms with 60bucks for both and they have gore and everything (you can check em out in my account)

pretty cool. It sounds like it was fun. Though, I'm tired of film makers saying that they have "no money" or talking bout how ridiculously low their budget is. "no-budget" means $0.00. Not $80,000.00.
