    im a brown belt currently and taken my 5.5 hr test for black on juse 14th on american freestyle karate but id say this new style looks really cool and interesting. especially the forms with canes

    Holy crap dude. My uncle is a black belt in Kyokushin kai. He was mugged twice, and both times the guys had knives. The first time, two guys came to him w/ a knife, and he beat them to the ground. The second time, my uncle told him he wouldn't make any money mugging people, and he beat him to the ground also. So yeah, it WILL work. They're just learning how to do it. Btw, when they did sparring tournements, the ambulance went back and forth to the hospital.
