The Arroyo Grande Strawberry Festival celebrating 25 years is kicked off with a cooking contest. This year marks the 6th year for the cook off. The entry fees, sponsors donations and cookbook sales which each year is produced with the previous years winning recipes is also sold to benefit the South County Historical Society which showcases 5 local museums and preserves the history of the South San Luis Obispo County. The cook off takes places at the Society's Heritage House Gardens. The video clip shows images taken during the judging and images of many of the entries. The Strawberry entries are judged on Creativity, Originality, Presentation and Taste. This year's judges were, Arroyo Grande Police Chief Steve Annibali, South County Historical Society and Village Improvement Association Director, Vivian Krug, Arroyo Grande City Councilman, Ed Arnold, The Beach Radio DJ Adam Montiel, Spencer's Fresh Markets, John Spencer and Arroyo Grande Fire Chief Mike Hubert.
It took the judges over three hours sampling over 50 entries to determine this year's winners in the Junior and Senior Leagues.
No sound here, just an old fashioned slide presentation! Thanks for looking.
