We are all emotional addicts whether we know it yet or not. Any emotion that consistently comes into your life, whether its fear, anger, sadness, irritability, victimization, or insecurtiy, is an emotion your body might actually be addicted to at the cellular level.

In this video, I talk about the physiology of how this actually occurs in the body and I give a real solution to breaking free from emotional addiction.

I learned about this phenomenon from Joe Dispenza on my favorite movie, 'What The Bleep Do We Know'.

Interesting argument. But let me tell you this. When a yog grasps his consciousness to the level of what a newborn baby's might be, and is faced with the task of controlling his thoughts, emotions, and behaviors within this new awareness, He still could not blame his lack of control on his newly open consciousness. It's really basic and rudimentary "science" but consider that the average layman doesn't even understand it at this level, it's the best she could probably do. It's not like she could cover the complexity of the amygdala and have people actually understand it... I think at the very least she's trying to do a service in telling people to control their emotions.

A way to deal with our emotions is to realise that we stand apart from the world of our emotions ,the way we feel about persons, situations etc is not the real world but our filters.WE are something than or emotions and we must deal with them as external objects. That way ,we don;t become stiff and bleak ,on the contrary ,we give ourselves the freedom to see and act accordingly.

@mvantol1, I agree with what you are saying, but I don't think you have understood what I am asking. I hope KatieFreiling, gets my question this time and gives me a response.

Yes, I think you formulated this in a very nice way. This process happens in the brain, where behavioral patterns are stored. By activating sets of neurons, our hypothalamus creates peptides. By changing our thoughts (in either way), we change the peptides that our hypothalamus create, and slowly all of our cells change their desired types of peptides.

I think some people are misunderstanding why it might be necessary to control your emotions and the context of the word "addiction" here. I've been struggling with depression and various anger issues, and this video I must say have opened up my mind. Now that I see the biological system behind emotions and potential influence on health, I feel like I need to shape up and change. Thank you for sharing this great information. I think all the fucking youtube commenters and noobs can learn from this
